The City of Sydney welcomed 2015 with the Year of the Sheep. The annual Lunar festival was one of the largest Chinese New Year celebrations in Sydney’s 19-year history of hosting this event, attracting over 600,000 local, interstate and overseas visitors.
The creative brings together the ancient traditions of paper craft and woodblock printing with modern, graphic visuals incorporating Sydney’s iconic architectural forms of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, creating something uniquely Chinese-Australian. The illustration reflects the Sheep’s characteristics, embodying its gentle spirit, creativity and a natural balance.
